| General Overview | Merux Lex is a complicated man, owing largely to his multi-species background. While gregarious and outgoing, he is at the same time a closed individual, and doesn't often allow others to get too close to him on a personal level. He much rather prefers to let others talk about themselves and keep the topic of conversation off of himself. | |
| Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: Empathy: As a half Betazoid, Lex possesses the typical empathic senses of his kind. Telepathy: Merux doesn't have the typical range of Betazoid telepathy. However, his mixed genetics has endowed him with a rather powerful touch telepathy. Unlike his Vulcan ancestors, he doesn't need to perform a ritual mind melding in order to access someone's mind. A simple touch of the hand can allow him access to surface thoughts, while a more lengthy and overt contact will facilitate a deeper scan. Weakness: Merux's main weaknesses his is relative lack of morals. He understands the concept, as well as the various racial inclinations towards and against various actions. He simply doesn't care. He abides by the rule of the law and presents himself as an upstanding citizen while in public. However, when outside the limelight, he has absolutely no reservations about doing what needs to be done in order to complete his missions. At odds with this is a core of altruism. He holds his crew mates and fellow Starfleet Service members as above and beyond the pale reckoning of other, lesser mortals, and excludes them from his morally ambiguous methodology. |

| Ambitions | To a degree, Merux craves power. He gets an absolute thrill out of manipulating an opponent into a position of relative weakness, and strives to hone his telepathic and empathic abilities as far as possible in order to facilitate such manipulation so. | |
